It's been a year...

It's been a year since I began this crazy journey.  I started my blog as an alternative means to journal about our family life.  I've always kept a journal...  sometimes handwritten and sometimes on the computer but for some reason I wanted to do something different for a season and so our journey began at

I remember the day after I signed up and did my first post, I was sitting with my sister and decided to show her what I had done.  We both sat there and laughed.  I didn't know if it would last, if it would take too much time away from my family, causing me to revaluate or maybe I just would not enjoy it...
I didn't realize though that along the way I would find some really special friends and I love that it is something that I can share with my Mom and my Sister.

While I don't drink coffee, I still enjoy spending time with my friends at a coffee shop enjoying tea of an iced chai.  Kinda funny, don't you think?! But, I love the encouragement....  the challenge...  the life that comes from our time together, whether it is from talking on our roles as wives and mothers, or discussing the Word of God.    That's why I appreciate you.  You challenge me and encourage me in this journey.

Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Proverbs 27:17

Thank you for helping sharpen me.

Thank you for being a friend.

  1. Happy Anniversary! And I am so very happy I found your blog awhile back. You encourage me!

  2. I just stumbled across your blog as I was reading Sally Clarkson's blog (I heard her speak last week and was so encouraged by her joy). Your posts are such a blessing to me! I have 2 little ones at home, and it is nice to find a kindred spirit across the country...I feel like I could have written some of these posts! Thank you for sharing your joys of motherhood and the Biblical wisdom that springs from them! I look forward to sharing with you in your journey.

  3. I can't believe that a year has passed already! It seems like just yesterday when you handed me the computer to see what you had started - you are such an insperation.
    Love ya sissy

  4. Carrie,
I'm so glad that you started blogging, so that I could "meet" you! I don't think I found your blog on the actual day that you started, but I know I found it soon after. I remember being hooked right away by your sweet, gentle way of writing. I hope you stick around for another year!

  5. I'm so glad we found each others blogs, as well!
As you already know... I enjoy your words so much.

I didn't realize that Kim was your sister! I just started reading a bit of her blog after she left a comment on mine... that's so wonderful to "know" you both! :o)

Hope you continue blogging for a long time, Carrie. My one year is coming up real soon, too, and like you I started it for much the same reasons and now I am amazed at all the great friendships that have resulted in it, as well.

  6. Hi Carrie,
Congratulation on your one year anniversary!!!! Yes, blogging is an amazing adventure, and I am so enjoying it. Thank you for your visit and your sweet words. Blessings,

  7. Congrats on 1 year!!! I think my bloggy anniversary is this month too???!!! I will have to check it out!

I am glad to have 'met' you too! :-)

  8. Carrie,
Happy blog anniversary! I always enjoy reading your posts, so I hope you continue for a long while. :) Thanks for coming to visit my blog so often, too. It's so wonderful to meet like-minded people through blogs that we would otherwise never meet, isn't it?

  9. Wow one year...hard to believe and it took me another couple of months before I joined the bloggy world. I'm so glad you did this-and the focus is right where it should be. Plus we've got mutual blog friends that we enjoy. Thanks for challenging me to join you.
    Love you my girl.
