Spilling Him

If a sudden jar can cause me to speak an impatient, unloving word, then I know nothing of Calvary love. For a cup brimful of sweet water cannot spill even one drop of bitter water, however suddenly jolted.
Amy Carmichael

praying for this week...  the jars will come this week, I don't know how and I don't know when but I know they will come, so then the question becomes,  how will I respond... what will spill from me?

I want my cup to spill Him...  to spill His sweetness, His love, His patience, His gentleness, His joy...      but I need the Lord every moment.

I can not do it in my own strength.

I need the Lord every moment.

  1. The more I turn to His Word, I should say the more often I turn to His Word, I allow myself to receive His strength, His patience, His love. when I let everything else come first and ignore His Word, I react poorly to situations. I need the Lord every moment too.

    thanks for the reminded!

  4. Last night, my 2 year old was sitting on the couch next to me eating, and he took his foot and pushed against the bowl causing it to spill all over me. I had just had the first shower I could find time for in 2 days. (I have five children) and I was SO TIRED. (no excuse for what follows!) I try to keep things in perspective and not react in anger, but there are just moments when you slip. And that moment was one of them. I was really upset with myself about it. And then this morning I came here, and with such a gently written reminder, the Lord used you to bring home an incredibly important message for when you are dealing with little hearts (and ears.) Thank you for posting this. I really needed it. I printed it out and put it on my fridge.

  5. Oh me too! This is a huge lesson for me... one I need to dwell on daily... if only it were easier to change. I need His grace so much. Beautiful words, Carrie, thank you for posting this.
